Rowan is a certified life and health coach, passionate about empowering and guiding clients through personal challenges and helping them to overcome limiting beliefs. He grew up in Germany and studied English Literature and French Linguistics at the University of Heidelberg. Rowan is a transgender, gay man who came out late in life and started his transition at the age of 51. His first published book was a collaboration with a friend, inspired by the Netflix TV show Heartstopper(R), which had a profound impact on his life. After meeting many fans who had similar experiences, he felt compelled to investigate the extraordinary responses it elicited in people of all ages, identities, and life experiences. He wanted to understand the transformative spark that motivated them all to find more joy, fulfilment, and connection in their lives, and hopes to inspire more people to overcome fear, pursue happiness, and live authentically by sharing these stories.Hightower, George: - George Hightower is the co-author of the book: Why Are We Like This? Stories of Transformation, a book about the transformative power of the Netflix series Heartstopper. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University and St. John's University, and a master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of Santa Monica. The focus of his postgraduate work was on personal development and transpersonal psychology. His education and devotion to helping others enabled his counseling practice to assist clients in achieving their highest potential, especially those in the LGBT+ community. In addition to advocating for resources for PWA, he worked on a National Institute of Mental Health sponsored AIDS research project at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in New York. George is searching for the commonality in our experiences that answers the fundamental Heartstopper(R) question: why are we like this?
