Tami Lemire is an educator, writer, and advocate for inclusive learning. With over 20 years of experience in classrooms and leadership roles supporting classrooms, she believes that every child deserves to see their family reflected in the stories they read. She wrote BobbleDeGook: The Town with Love in Every Nook to celebrate the beautiful diversity of today's families, including single parents, LGBTQIA] families, and chosen families. In addition to her work as an author, Tami Lemire is completing doctoral research focused on STEM education and trauma-informed teaching practices. Her research supports her work as a consultant helping schools create learning environments where students and teachers feel safe, seen, and empowered. She partners with educators across the country to build classrooms where emotional well-being and academic success go hand in hand. When she's not writing, speaking, or working with schools, she is enjoying time with her family, gardening, and creating resources that build bridges between compassion and curriculum. She is the founder of TLC for Educators: STEMpossible for All, a consultancy focused on expanding access to high quality trauma-informed STEM education with an emphasis on reaching underrepresented populations. She earned her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and uses her artistic platform to bring attention to social justice issues, creating work that inspires awareness and change. Kari was honored to create the illustrations for BobbleDeGook, a story that celebrates love, acceptance, and inclusivity. Through both her art and her nursing career, she continues to advocate for compassion, connection, and a more just world.
