In 1870, Sister Elizabeth boarded a train from Ohio to Springfield, Arkansas, determined to deliver a life-changing message to Evening, a woman of Indian and African descent. Her arrival in the post-Civil War South stirred already simmering tensions, challenging the delicate equilibrium of a society struggling to rebuild and redefine itself.

Amidst this turmoil, Confederate farmers, yearning to return to their bygone glory, cast covetous eyes on the lush fields of Culver Tusk.
