These pieces follow the chronological order of the journal I kept throughout my battle with cancer -

from the day of diagnosis on January 5, 2024 to reaching that same day a year later, with no evidence of disease.

They were written based on the ever-changing emotions in each entry and split into two sections, the hurt & the healing.

The hurt focuses on the period of time before I knew my treatment was working and when I felt I couldn't take a breath.

The healing is the exhale and the start to navigating survivorship.

My hope is that you can feel the turbulence from day to day, highlighting the grief, gratitude, betrayal, love, and everything in between.
