Stephen Erdle's Open Mouth: Playful Trilogy describes the findings of modern psychology in an enjoyable, accessible way. The Book consists of a collection of three one-act plays, allowing the reader to learn from colorful characters rather than a dry textbook.

"Our Five Faces," the first play, deals with the range of human emotions and their effects on human behavior. This play's simple, straightforward language and frank discussion of the dangers of substance abuse make it perfectly suitable for younger readers or actors.

"Deconstructing Hairy Peter" examines contemporary human sexuality through the fascinating dreams of a ten-year-old boy. Hairy's dreams point out that while current generations face challenges in the sexual arena that their parents did not, some thing never change.

The optimization of human nature is described in the final play. Readers are challenged to cast a vote in the trial of the millennia. They must choose between the fantasy of riches and immortality and the reality of justice and humanity.

About the Author

Born in Toronto, Canada, Stephen Erdle received his Ph. D. in psychology from the University of Western Ontario in 1986 and joined the faculty of Arts and Science at Huron University College in London, Canada, where he is currently an associate professor in the Department of Psychology. He has been published in several professional psychological journals.

Dr. Erdle lives with his wife Nancy and their three cats. They enjoy music, yoga, and quiet contemplation in their spare time. He is also the author of All's Revolution, available from Dorrance Publishing Company.
