It's 1946, and on a hot spring night in Phoenix, Arizona, things are only beginning to heat up at the Monte Vista Road home of flamboyant decorator Walter Waverly Wingate.

Private detective Mason T. Adler isn't thrilled to be turning fifty, and the party Walter throws him makes him even more uncomfortable. Soon after, the family relocated to Wisconsin, where David grew up and attended high school and university, majoring in business and creative writing. Landing a job in retail, he found himself relocating to New York, Massachusetts, and eventually back to Wisconsin, where he currently lives with his husband. He has written many short stories and poems and is passionate about mysteries, old movies, and crime novels.
