A runaway bestseller in Québec, where it has captured the hearts of readers and pushed trans-identity into the mainstream conversation, Dandelion Daughter is an intimate, courageous portrait of what it's like to grow up having been assigned the wrong sex at birth. Set against the windswept countryside of the remote Charlevoix region some five hours north of Montreal, Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay's autobiographical novel immortalizes her early years as an alienated boy trapped in a world of small-town values and her parents' dissolving marriage, through complex adolescent years of self-discovery and first loves, to the harrowing episodes that fuel the growing realization that she must transition and give birth to her new self if she is to continue living at all. One of the first novels of its kind to appear in Québec, this inspiring story has already connected with a wide readership, and has been adopted by many schools to help expand worldviews and curriculums.

Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay is a writer, actress, model, and trans activist. Apart from the resounding success of her debut novel La fille d'elle même, her supporting role in the 2016 film Ceux qui font les révolutions à moitié n'ont fait que se creuser un tombeau garnered her the first-ever nomination for a trans actress at the Canadian Screen Awards. Her other publications include the poetry collections Le Ventre des volcans (2015) and Les secrets de l'origami (2018), and La voix de la nature (2022), a book for young adults. Dandelion Daughter is her English-language debut.

Eli Tareq El Bechelany-Lynch is the author of knot body (2020, Metatron Press), which was shortlisted for the QWF Concordia First Book Award, and The Good Arabs (2021, Metonymy Press), which won the 2022 Grand Prix du Livre de Montréal. Their work has appeared in The Best Canadian Poetry 2018 anthology, The New Quarterly, Arc Poetry Magazine, and was longlisted for the 2019 CBC Poetry Prize. They are an acquisitions editor at Metonymy Press, as well as an editor at smoke and mold and the non-fiction editor at The Puritan.
