Over the course of a decade, Belinda Roddie wrote poetry for a freelance writing blog they maintained. A few years later, they reviewed said poetry and found that a specific set of themes, motifs, and perspectives tended to crop up time and time again. Out of over two thousand poems, Roddie selected seventy-five of them to reflect a worldview where food and drink, music and dance, queerness and trans identity, religion and its consequences, and social justice were prioritized. In a way, they appeared to be topics that the author most hyperfixated on.

From "The Human Chandelier" to "Daughter of Pasiphae" to "Your Body is Full of Stars" to "Bless the Bones of California," Belinda Roddie's debut poetry collection explores both language and narrative in a bold and brutally honest way, leaving a little something for every enthusiast of the craft. Above all else, it promotes love of others and love of self, against any and all odds.
